Workshop series: Greenhouse Gas Emissions Measurement and Disclosure in the context of AASB S2

Please note: These workshops are limited to individuals from Group 1 - 3 corporate reporting entities. Before registering, check your eligibility below (under Who can attend?)
The Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB), Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand and CPA Australia have partnered to host a series of practical in-person workshops throughout Australia to support the implementation of AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures.
The workshops will focus on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Measurement and Disclosure in the context of AASB S2.
Training topics include:
- GHG emissions measurement and disclosure fundamentals
- Boundaries
- Scope 1 and 2
- Scope 3, including the S2 scope 3 measurement framework
- Disclosure
Learning objectives for participants are:
- Understand the purpose, measurement and disclosure of GHG emissions in AASB S2.
- Apply the key concepts of the S2 scope 3 GHG emissions measurement framework to practical scenarios.
- Identify appropriate activity data, emissions factors and methodologies for measuring GHG emissions.
- Determine the key actions your organisation can take to establish or enhance its GHG emissions measurement and disclosure process.
- Explain how proportionality mechanisms in S2 can support GHG emissions measurement and disclosure.
These workshops will be facilitated by an external training provider on the training topics listed above and will include interactive Q&A, breakout activities and networking opportunities.
Who can attend?
Attendees are limited to individuals from Group 1 - 3 corporate reporting entities who are involved with internal preparation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Measurement or Disclosure in accordance with AASB S2. This includes roles such as, but not limited to, sustainability/ESG reporting managers, data analysts, COOs, CSOs and CFOs of corporate reporting entities.
Please note that the focus is strictly on individuals who meet the above criteria. For the avoidance of doubt, individuals from finance sector reporting entities, consulting, advisory, audit, assurance, and contractors providing preparation services to reporting entities are not eligible to attend this series of workshops. Instead, to help address the demand for relevant resources and training from these entities, the AASB will be hosting events separately for:
- Finance sector reporting entities, in collaboration with relevant finance sector industry bodies. Only those that meet the criteria of being a reporting entity in the finance sector will be eligible to attend. If you are interested in attending one of these events, please click here to express your interest to the AASB.
- Advisors and assurance providers. This will be a video resource. If you are interested in receiving access to this resource from the AASB, please click here.
For those unable to attend the workshops in person, a video resource will also be made available after the workshop series has been delivered.
To ensure as many organisations as possible can participate, registration is limited to two attendees per organisation.
