ONLINE EVENT - Trans-Tasman - Staying Steady: Building Resilience Through Change, Pressure and Uncertainty

24 September 2026

Overview

As Chartered Accountants continue to navigate a profession shaped by constant change, increasing complexity, evolving client expectations and the rapid acceleration of AI, resilience has become more than a personal wellbeing skill — it is now essential to sustainable performance.

Timed to support key wellbeing conversations across Australia and New Zealand, this webinar falls between R U OK? Day in Australia, Mental Health Awareness Week in New Zealand. Together, these moments provide a timely opportunity to pause, reflect and consider how individuals, teams and leaders can better support mental health, connection and resilience through ongoing pressure.

In this practical and thought-provoking session, Dr Alia Bojilova will explore how professionals can move beyond simply coping with change and instead build the capacity to adapt, recover and continue performing sustainably. A resilience and peak performance psychologist, former New Zealand Army psychologist and former lead psychologist with the New Zealand Special Air Service, Alia brings deep experience from high-pressure military, government, elite sport and commercial environments.

Drawing on her book, The Resilience Toolkit, Alia will share practical insights into how we can recognise the signs of change fatigue, strengthen our sense of purpose and belonging, and apply small but meaningful strategies to navigate uncertainty with greater clarity and confidence.

In this session, you will explore:

  • Why ongoing change can create fatigue, uncertainty and cognitive overload
  • How to recognise early signs of overwhelm in yourself and others
  • Practical ways to build resilience through awareness, belonging, curiosity and drive
  • How leaders can support healthier, more sustainable ways of working during periods of change

Whether you are leading a team, supporting clients, adapting to new technologies or simply trying to keep pace with constant change, this session will offer practical tools and perspective to help you build resilience that lasts.
