Overview
Join Anthony Lane CA EMBA for an engaging and thought-provoking session exploring how bias influences effective and ethical decision-making.
During the session, Anthony will:
• Examine what bias is and how members of the accounting profession are expected to recognise and address it.
• Explore how the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (Including Independence Standards) guides members in identifying and mitigating bias.
• Analyse the 2003 NASA Columbia Space Shuttle disaster as a powerful case study, highlighting the real-world consequences of unchecked bias and its impact on decision-making.
This session will provide practical insights to help strengthen professional judgement, improve decision-making, and support ethical practice in an increasingly complex environment.
As part of this event, the Western Region Committee will also proudly welcome new CA ANZ members and recognise members celebrating significant membership milestones, honouring their contribution to both the profession and the CA ANZ community.
We look forward to welcoming you to Bathurst, Dubbo or Orange this November.
