Sarah Butler
Sarah has been with CaseWare since 2009 but started her audit career in 2002 through a traineeship with PricewaterhouseCoopers while she completed her Business degree. Just recently, she was also made an Associate Fellow with the Institute of Managers & Leaders.
Intimately involved in the development of a number of Audit software products and applications for the Australian market, Sarah is now Head of Audit & Accounting at CaseWare, ultimately responsible for all products and required developments for our Audit & Accounting customers ensuring both compliance and the relevance of product enhancements.

Kimberley Carney
Kimberley has 16 years’ experience in professional services where she has spent the majority of her time working in technical accounting roles. In her most recent role, Kimberley was the network technical senior Manager at William Buck. There, she provided financial reporting and auditing advice to a range of entities including ASX- and NZX-listed entities, private companies, syndicates and not-for-profit entities in Australia and New Zealand.

Dana Fleming
Dana has over 25 years tax experience, specialising in superannuation and managed investments both in Australia and overseas at both KPMG and PwC. For the last 4 years Dana has led KPMG's Asset & Wealth Management Practice in Australia. Her client portfolio included major industry funds and both major retail and managed funds. She advised and worked with them on the tax implications of their strategic planning as well as day to day activities, assisting with tax compliance, dealing with the impact of changing legislation on their systems and products, strategic product development, mergers and unit pricing.

Liz Giust FCA, GAICD, FGIA
Liz has over 30 years’ experience in Accounting Professional Services Firms, and now has her own Consultancy Firm. Liz’s expertise lies in external Audit Services and Methodology Development, Leadership and Implementation. Domestic and Global Risk and Quality leadership, Learning and Development , Guiding and Managing Governance issues, Driving Innovation and Change Management.

Andy Gowers
Andy has a business degree from Monash University’s David Syme Business School with a major in Marketing. He went on to complete the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) in 2002.
During the early 2000s, Andy worked as a Business Development Consultant in the financial services industry and then in early 2008, Andy joined the ANZ’s Business Bank Financial Planning team (Victoria/Tasmania) providing financial planning services to ANZ business customers with loans of up to $15M. After two years at ANZ, Andy joined the team at Michael Roach Financial Services, where he provided Business Succession and personal risk protection advice to business owners, executives and families, before establishing Time Advice in February 2011.

Rene Herman CA
As a Senior Project Manager at the AUASB, Rene is responsible for the planning, research, development and delivery of auditing and assurance standards and related guidance forming part of the AUASB strategy and corporate plan. Rene’s primary areas of focus at the AUASB has been on Australian Auditing Standards and related guidance in relation to historical financial information, with her current area of focus being on coordinating and cooperating effectively with regulators.

David Holland
David is the National Head of Technical Accounting at Moore Stephens Australia. David has 20 years' experience in a variety of positions including, providing technical advice and training, corporate development and strategic planning. This experience also includes six years within BHP in strategic planning and development.

As a specialist in his field, David has prepared and delivered a variety of IFRS seminars for Chartered Accountants ANZ.

Murray McDonald
Murray has over 30 years of experience in the accounting and advisory industry and specialises in audit and assurance. He is a member of the Moore Stephens Audit & Assurance Committee. Murray qualified with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is a member of the CAANZ’s Queensland Public Practice Panel. Murray is also a Registered Company Auditor, a Registered SMSF Auditor and an Approved Overseas Auditor in New Zealand.

Matthew Monaghan
Matthew is completely dedicated to his clients and enjoys using numbers to provide powerful problem-solving solutions. He enjoys helping clients overcome challenges. “I’ve always loved numbers, and naturally I love using numbers to understand a client’s business and to help them grow”. Being available to his clients and guiding them through regulatory and reporting requirements is a high priority for Matthew, stating that “[As an Auditor] I like to be hands-on as much as possible – to guide clients through the audit process”.

Doug Niven FCA
Doug Niven is Senior Executive Leader, Financial Reporting and Audit of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). He is responsible for the regulation of financial reports and audits under Australia’s corporations and securities legislation. This includes leading ASIC’s financial reporting surveillance and audit inspection programmes, financial reporting and audit policy, auditor registration and deregistration, enforcement matters concerning auditors, and digital reporting. Doug is a member of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators and Committee 1 of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions.

Channa Wijesinghe
Channa has been with the APESB for 12 years and manages the implementation of the Board’s strategy, national and international stakeholder engagement, operations and technical work program. He functions as the Chair of the Board’s taskforces and has overseen the issue of APESB’s suite of 21 pronouncements for the Australian accounting profession. Channa also represents APESB at the IESBA National Standards Setters Group.

Mel Yates
Mel Yates is the Director of Reporting and Red Tape Reduction at the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Prior to this Mel worked at the Australian Taxation Office in compliance, internal policy and operational financial management roles. Before that, Mel worked in the Victorian Government and in local government social services finance roles in England. Mel began his career at a large professional services firm. Mel is deputy chair of the Victorian Public Sector & Not-For-Profit Committee of CPA.

As the AUASB Technical Director, Matthew leads the team responsible for the development and delivery of Australian Auditing & Assurance Standards. With the AUASB Chairman, Matthew is actively involved in managing and developing relationships with significant Australian and International stakeholders from the accounting, business, regulatory and standard-setting communities.
